Department of Zoology

About Department.

The department of Zoology is established in 2002. We offer three-year (semester pattern) degree course in physics. AS per SGBAU guidelines CBCS system is also Implemented by parent university from 2022 - 2023. We have highly qualified faculty members (Two assistant professors) with great academic excellence. Almost 150 students are admitted in the department every year. Our department has specious, well equipped and well-disciplined laboratory. The Department also offers certificate courses on 'Vermiculture' and 'Disaster Management'. To train students for self employment as well as to fight both man made and natural disaster. The Department of Zoology has recognised Research Laboratory from August-2022. Both faculties are Ph.D. Guide recognised by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Amravati.

Departmental Activities.

Student participates in various activities as science exhibitions, Avishkar at University level. The organises Poster presentations, Rangoli competitions relating Zoology, seminars, Study tours also the department organises events like wild life week, environmental day, science day etc. to bring awareness in students and local community about environment. The faculties always uses various ICT tool and techniques for teaching and enhance the learning process. The Department of Zoology has collaboration and Research Linkages with Dr. R. G. Rathod Mahavidyalaya Murtizapur for improving scientific temperament among the students

1) The Department of Zoology earned Second Prize in University Avishkar contest.

2) The Department Successfully conducted online lecture series by various guest lecturers.

3) During COVID-19 the department also organised national Webinar on 'Impact of Climate Change on Biodiversity and Conservation' sponseredby Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Amravati chapter on 27th March 2021.
